Job Description

East Coast Warehouse is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Carrier Procurement Specialist to join our growing Logistics and Supply Chain team. In this role, you will support the sourcing, management, and negotiation of carrier partnerships (including trucking, air, ocean, and rail) to ensure the efficient transportation of goods. We welcome candidates with some experience or a strong interest in procurement or logistics, and a passion for learning and career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrier Sourcing & Support: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and selecting carriers based on service quality, capacity, and cost. Support rate negotiations and service agreements.
• Contract Management: Help oversee carrier contracts, ensuring service requirements and contractual terms are upheld.
• Vendor Relations: Maintain regular communication with carriers and third-party logistics providers to ensure operational excellence.
• Market Research: Stay informed on industry trends and assist in identifying opportunities for operational improvements and cost efficiencies.
• Performance Monitoring: Support the tracking and evaluation of carrier performance metrics, including delivery times and customer satisfaction.
• Data Management & Reporting: Maintain procurement records, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to management.
• Internal Collaboration: Partner with supply chain, operations, and logistics teams to align transportation strategies with business objectives.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Assist in ensuring adherence to transportation regulations and company standards.
• Cost Optimization: Help identify and implement cost-saving initiatives within carrier operations.

Qualifications:

• Education or experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required).
• Interest in procurement, transportation, or logistics operations.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant business software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.

Preferred Skills:

• Eagerness to build expertise in transportation procurement.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or logistics platforms (preferred but not required).
