Job Summary

The Clean-Up Crew Member is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the sawmill facility. This role ensures all areas remain free of debris, follows safety protocols, and supports maintenance and production teams in optimizing equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow and practice all lock-out procedures for machinery, including infeed/outfeed transfers, machine centers, and waste systems.
• Report any safety concerns or improvement opportunities to the supervisor.
• Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
• Be certified to operate mobile equipment as required for the role.
• Utilize production breaks to clean hard-to-reach areas.
• Maintain an inventory of clean-up tools and equipment .
• Ensure all areas of the plant remain clean and orderly through a structured routine.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical maintenance teams to support machine efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Work alongside production personnel to address facility-wide clean-up needs.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
• Comply with all company policies and employee handbook guidelines .

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to work in an industrial environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials as needed.
• Understanding of lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures (training provided).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
• Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills .
