Job Title: Cloud Architect / Lead – AWS & Google Cloud Platform

Job Type: Full-time / Contract-to-Hire

Location: Remote (Preferred: MA, GA, NH, FL, TX, PA)

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Cloud Architect / Lead with deep expertise in AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our growing team. This is a client-facing leadership role that blends cloud architecture, solution engineering, security, automation, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will also play a key role in supporting pre-sales and customer success efforts.

You’ll serve as a trusted cloud advisor , leading discovery sessions, architecting secure and scalable solutions, and collaborating with both onshore and offshore teams to deliver impactful results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Client-Facing Leadership

• Act as a strategic advisor and technical lead in client engagements.
• Support pre-sales and sales engineering efforts to drive customer success.
• Translate complex cloud concepts into clear solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Cloud Solutioning & SME Expertise

• Lead technical architecture across AWS and GCP (primary focus on AWS, growing GCP footprint).
• Conduct discovery sessions and develop tailored cloud solutions.
• Champion security-first architectures, driving best practices across environments.

Production Operations & SLA Management

• Own production environments with a focus on uptime, performance, and SLA adherence.
• Implement strict change control processes to ensure stability.
• Bring urgency and accountability to all production systems.

Team Leadership & Technical Strategy

• Mentor and guide onshore/offshore cloud engineers.
• Support the operations manager in technical and strategic decision-making.
• Promote excellence through white-glove service, attention to detail, and innovation.

Compliance & FinOps

• Ensure compliance with SOC2, FDA/GxP, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Lead cloud cost optimization and FinOps strategies.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
• Advanced expertise in AWS and GCP.
• Strong client-facing and solutioning experience.
• Proven knowledge of cloud security, including CloudSec for AWS and GCP.
• Hands-on experience managing production systems, SLAs, and change management.
• Experience mentoring distributed cloud teams.
• Deep automation and DevOps mindset, including AI-based innovation.
• Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost management.
• Understanding of compliance frameworks: SOC2, FDA/GxP, cybersecurity.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS and GCP certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
• Background in pre-sales, customer success, and solutions engineering.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-native tools.
