Job Title/Series /Grade: Engineering Technician - GS-08XX-04

Hiring in the following disciplines:

• Electrical Engineer (EE)
• Mechanical Engineer (ME)
• Fire Protection Engineer (FPE)
• Civil Engineer (CE)
• Community Planner

Pay Range: $35,870-$46,627

Work Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time

Appointment Type: Temporary- NTE 1 Year

Service: Excepted

Location : Norfolk, VA

Summary: You serve as a Student Trainee (Engineering) in the Pathways Internship Program of Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic, (NAVFAC Atlantic)

Duties:

• You will assist in updating engineering drawing and collecting technical data for engineering studies and reports.
• You will prepare basic drawing, charts maps and sketches/details of connections and components related to engineering systems.
• You will assist engineering and technicians by developing project scopes and estimate cost for site plans and specifications.
• You will research drawing files for technical information and extract data from a variety of sources.

Conditions of Employment :

• Must be a U. S. Citizen.

• This is a Non-Sensitive Position. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Favorable Suitability Determination.

• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

• Required to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance.

• This is a bargaining unit position.

• Protective clothing worn in field inspections include coveralls, gloves, hard-toed boots, and safety glasses/belts.
