EHS Lead – Biotech Manufacturing (W2 Contract) - NO C2C

Bedford, MA | Onsite | 6-Month Initial Contract

A leading biotechnology manufacturer in Bedford, MA is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Lead to join their team on a 6-month W2 contract. This is a fully onsite role supporting a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring EHS compliance, operational safety, and risk mitigation during a period of active site improvement and regulatory focus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and MA DEP.
• Lead and manage comprehensive site-wide EHS programs to promote a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Act as the primary liaison between internal project teams, cross-functional departments, and external regulatory agencies.
• Support the reliability and performance of critical equipment and systems in partnership with facilities and maintenance teams.

Qualifications:

• Direct experience overseeing EHS in a manufacturing setting, with hands-on involvement in managing equipment, particularly systems involving flammable or explosive materials.
• Demonstrated background in supporting cGMP-regulated facilities through design, construction, or capital improvement projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrically classified environments (Class I, Division 1 & 2).
• Proven ability to independently own and execute EHS initiatives from risk assessment through to implementation.
• Experience managing OSHA-reportable incidents and ongoing safety compliance in a regulated industry.

• Location: Bedford, MA (100% onsite)
• Type: W2 contract only
• Duration: Initial 6-month engagement, with potential for extension
