Small San Diego law firm seeks full-time, on-site legal secretary with 1-2 years minimum legal secretary experience.
Our firm represents local, state, and federal public safety employees and their collective bargaining associations. Offering opportunity for exposure to administrative, civil, criminal, and labor law. The law firm also represents labor organizations in litigation and appellate work in administrative proceedings (civil service, SPB, and MSPB), federal and state courts.
Job Description :
· Draft, edit, and format pleadings, briefs, discovery, and legal correspondence
· E-file in both state and federal courts (knowledge of PACER desirable)
· Calendar deadlines and court dates
· Organize and maintain physical and electronic files
· Assist with general administrative tasks - answering phones, managing emails, and handling mail
· Supporting attorneys with a variety of work styles and preferences
Qualifications :
· Superior attention to detail with excellent proofreading abilities
· Proficient in legal document preparation and formatting
· Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and e-filing
· Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Strong organizational and calendaring skills
· Self-starter with ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
· Proficient in Word, Adobe, and Outlook
