We are seeking a passionate and skilled Massage Therapy Instructor to help shape the next generation of massage therapy professionals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and knowledge with students, guiding them as they develop the skills needed to succeed in the massage therapy field. Key Responsibilities:
Create Engaging Lesson Plans: Develop comprehensive and dynamic lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet established learning objectives.
Deliver Instruction: Provide both theoretical and practical instruction in areas such as massage techniques, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and client assessment.
Model Techniques and Safety Standards: Demonstrate proper massage techniques, safety practices, and ethical standards, ensuring students understand and apply these principles.
Foster an Inclusive Learning Environment: Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation, engagement, and growth.
Supervise Hands-On Practice: Offer guidance during practical sessions, helping students refine their skills through hands-on experience in a clinical practice setting.
Assess and Provide Feedback: Evaluate student progress through written and practical assessments, offering constructive feedback to support individual development.
Support Individual Learning Needs: Identify students who may need additional support and tailor your approach to ensure every student can succeed.
Stay Current in the Industry: Continuously update your knowledge of trends, techniques, and advancements in the massage therapy field to keep the curriculum fresh and relevant.
Maintain a Safe Learning Environment: Ensure the classroom and laboratory settings are organized, clean, and safe for all students.
Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and role model for students, providing professional guidance and inspiring them to excel in their massage therapy careers.
Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with fellow faculty members to enhance curriculum, program initiatives, and continuously improve the educational experience.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Current certification as a licensed massage therapist in good standing.
At least 3 years of professional experience as a practicing massage therapist.
Previous teaching or training experience, ideally within massage therapy or a related health field, is highly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of massage therapy techniques, anatomy, physiology, and industry standards.
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging way.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching and mentoring students.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
Familiarity with instructional technology and the ability to incorporate multimedia resources into teaching.
A commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters diversity and student success.
Schedule and Availability:
Day and evening positions available, including options for partial remote work.
