Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility based in Bellaire, Texas. This contract opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Responsibilities:

• Customer Interaction & Service : Welcomes patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner; addresses questions related to appointments, wait times, and other issues; and proactively addresses dissatisfied customers with service recovery.
• Communication & Coordination : Effectively communicates patient arrival details, delays, and clinic processes with patients, staff, and providers; reports prolonged wait times to the clinic manager.
• Support & Assistance : Secures translation services when needed, participates in clinic meetings to improve patient flow, and attends mandatory training and meetings for professional development.
• Task Management : Notifies licensed staff or supervisors when unable to complete assigned responsibilities; ensures tasks are completed as needed.
• Skills & Competencies : Demonstrates knowledge of medical assistant tasks, appointment scheduling, and medical terminology; proficient in office and patient care equipment, time management, communication, and customer service.

Qualifications:

• Experience : Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Certification/Registration : One of the following certifications is required:
• CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (National Healthcareer Association)
• CMA-AAM - Certified Medical Assistant (American Association of Medical Assistants)
• EMT - Emergency Medical Technician (Texas Department of State Health Services)
• EMT-A - Advanced EMT (Texas Department of State Health Services)
• EMT-B - Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (Texas Department of State Health Services)
• EMT-I - Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate (Texas Department of State Health Services)
• EMT-P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (Texas Department of State Health Services)
• LIC PAR - Licensed Paramedic (Texas Department of State Health Services)
• NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant (National Center for Competency Testing)
• NRCMA - National Registered Certified Medical Assistant (National Association of Health Professionals)
• RMA - Registered Medical Assistant (American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants)

Job Type: Contract

Schedule: 5x8 Day– 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM

Pay Range: $22/hour

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
