We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Program Director to lead our new Massage Therapy Program and ensure high standards of academic excellence, program management, and student support.
Job Summary:
The Massage Therapy Program Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the massage therapy program, including curriculum development, instructor hiring and management, student support, and program compliance with regulatory standards. This position requires a combination of hands-on leadership, strategic planning, and a deep commitment to promoting student success and professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Administration
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the massage therapy program, including scheduling, resource management, and working with state compliance requirements.
Ensure the program complies with accreditation standards, state licensing regulations, and institutional policies.
Regularly review and update curriculum to maintain relevance with industry standards and best practices.
Teaching within the program as the primary instructor
Student Support and Success
Provide academic advising and career counseling to students, promoting retention and successful completion of the program.
Develop initiatives to enhance student engagement, professional growth, and overall experience.
Monitor student progress, address academic concerns, and provide necessary interventions or resources.
Ability to supervise up to 15 students in the massage therapy lab and clinic at one time.
Faculty Management
Recruit, train, and evaluate qualified faculty and staff members for the program.
Foster a collaborative, supportive environment for faculty, promoting ongoing professional development and instructional excellence.
Ensure instructional materials and delivery methods are of high quality and meet the needs of diverse learners.
Community and Industry Engagement
Build relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and industry partners to enhance program visibility and secure opportunities for student externships and placements.
Represent the program at industry conferences, community events, and other relevant functions.
Strategic Planning and Development
Lead initiatives to grow and improve the program, including expanding student enrollment and developing new partnerships.
Identify and implement innovative educational practices, technologies, and resources to stay current with trends in massage therapy.
Qualifications:
Education:Background and training in massage therapy and massage therapy license in the State of Michigan with good standing.
Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in massage therapy education or management.
Active licensure or certification in massage therapy.
Proven leadership skills, including experience in program development, budgeting, and personnel management.
Skills:
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of massage therapy industry standards, regulatory requirements, and current trends.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Program Director or in a similar leadership role within an educational setting.
Experience with curriculum design, accreditation processes, and student advising.
