Capitol Communications Center (CCC) is a 24-hour operation located within the State Capitol Swing Space building in downtown Sacramento. CCC supports CHP operations within the Capitol and surrounding state facilities in the downtown area. Personnel work closely with personnel assigned to Capitol Protection Section (CPS), Dignitary Protection Section and members of the Senate and Assembly Sergeant-at-Arms. The primary mission of CPS is protection of the State Capitol, its employees and visitors. CPS also provides law enforcement services to over 200 state buildings and over 50,000 state employees in the downtown Sacramento area. CCC is responsible for answering the nationwide toll-free 1-800-TELL-CHP telephone number 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Working Conditions

This position is considered an administrative assignment; consequently, only current CHP Public Safety Dispatchers will be considered for this assignment. The incumbent selected will be expected to meet the minimum 24 months duration of the assignment, and the normal maximum duration of 48 months in accordance with General Order (G. O.) 10.6, Field and Headquarters Assignments and Transfers Nonuniformed Employees. Extensions of Administrative Assignments may be granted.

Applicants with foreign transcript(s)/degree(s) must provide a third-party transcript/degree credential evaluation that indicates the number of units to which the foreign coursework is equivalent.

Benefits

The Capitol Communications Center dispatch employees receive an additional $300.00 recruitment and retention monthly pay differential.  Part-time and intermittent employees shall receive a pro rata share of the monthly differential based on the total number of hours worked within the monthly pay period.
