Registered Nurse, RN- Oncology Infusion, Outpatient at Lowell General Hospital summary:

As a Registered Nurse specializing in Oncology Infusion at Lowell General Hospital, I provide critical care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective treatment plans. With a focus on professional development and a supportive work environment, I help facilitate patient care and discharge planning while maintaining high standards of documentation and communication. This role emphasizes both clinical skills and the importance of teamwork in delivering exceptional oncology care within a Magnet-recognized institution.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an  experienced Infusion RN to work close to home in a  Magnet-recognized , community-based hospital. This position is in our  Oncology/Hematology provider practice, working in an NP-led infusion room. 

Hours: 24 hours/week- Day Schedule
E very 8th weekend based on patient and schedule need

Responsibilities: 

  • Ability to address problems and make decisions that are guided by precedents, policies, and objectives. Regularly makes recommendations on issues affecting the department by including staff input, being innovative, creative, and lean.
    Administers intravenous chemotherapy and monitors oral chemotherapy compliance

  • Offers advice of medication and post-chemotherapy home care to patients/family upon discharge from the clinic.

  • Coordinates care, in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

  • Submits documentation in a timely, accurate, clear, legible and concise manner.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in staffing patterns and resolution of staffing conflicts

     

Skills/Knowledge/Ability:

  • MA RN license

  • Chemotherapy-Biotherapy Certification preferred, can obtain after hire

  • Oncology experience preferred

  • BSN preferred

  • BLS required

  • OCN preferred

  • Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work.

  • Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with various healthcare team members, patients, and families.

  • Medical knowledge in Oncology, and comprehensive assessment skills in adult medicine.

  • Ability to effectively manage stress due to critical issues related to patient care, changing organizational climate, and personnel issues.

  • Set goals and plan how to accomplish them with guidance of manager/director

  • Strong critical thinking / judgment skills
