Customer Support Specialist – Oahu

Location:

Honolulu, HI (100% Onsite)

Employment Type:

Contract-to-Hire | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Role Overview:

BEPC is seeking a dedicated and organized Customer Support Specialist to join a team focused on energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across Hawai‘i. This full-time, on-site position requires a dependable individual with excellent communication and customer service skills to support high-impact environmental programs. Candidates must currently reside on the island of O‘ahu —no relocation candidates, please.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers via phone and email regarding energy and water efficiency programs.
  • Process rebate applications, verify eligibility, and conduct quality control checks using the work order management system.
  • Educate the public on energy efficiency best practices and available program incentives.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve operational workflows and customer service experiences.
  • Maintain and organize high-volume shared email inboxes.
  • Prepare and summarize reports using MS Office tools, especially Excel.
  • Support administrative duties including mail handling and weekly office tasks.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2+ years in a customer service/call center role handling external customer inquiries.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel; ability to type 40+ WPM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, stay organized, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Experience working with dual monitors and shared mailboxes.
  • Must live on the island of O‘ahu and be able to work 100% onsite.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with Salesforce or CRM tools.
  • Background in energy efficiency or water conservation programs.
  • Technical or contractor interaction experience.
  • Experience in project or client management.

Contract Details:

  • Pay Rate: $25–$27/hour
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM HST
  • Onsite Requirement: 100% onsite; no remote or WFH options
