Position Purpose

The Staff Attorney will help review Requests for Evidence (RFE) and perform legal research according to guidance provided by senior attorneys. No immigration experience is necessary, as training will be provided on the types of cases you will be working on, but an interest in immigration law is preferred. The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented, able to follow detailed instructions, and motivated to help our clients obtain documents and stay united with their families. There is an opportunity for career growth and additional responsibilities with strong performance.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Review draft RFE responses pursuant to instructions from Senior Attorneys
  • Identify, track, and make necessary edits prior to submission
  • Clearly communicate to other team members regarding edits
  • Meet daily goals on reviewing cases
  • Perform legal research on immigration law topics

Essential Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to follow detailed directions
  • Experience using a case management software system preferred
  • Interest in immigration law preferred
  • Support mission of helping people currently living in America obtain their documents and stay together with their family
  • Computer skills (Typing - MS Word and MS Excel, Document Management - DropBox, Email - MS Outlook)

Minimum Qualifications

  • The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member in good standing of a state bar
