Job Description

Application Engineer / Technical Marketing Engineer

Location: Milpitas, CA (on-site)

Position Summary

Looking for a challenging role with an opportunity to have an immediate impact on company growth?

We are seeking a creative and knowledgeable applications engineer or technical marketing engineer to join our expanding team. This role will contribute to the ScaleFlux go-to-market team as we ramp business for the ScaleFlux portfolio of storage and memory products. The primary focus for the role is the generation of technical content to demonstrate and communicate the benefits of ScaleFlux products for real-world deployments. This includes conducting standard benchmark testing as well as collaborating with the internal Application Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Marketing, Engineering teams and with partners and end customers to design and execute experiments that can connect the features and capabilities of ScaleFlux products with business outcomes in production environments – for example power efficiency, cost savings, application responsiveness, and cluster reliability.

These experiments will lead to the generation of technical whitepapers, application notes, tradeshow demos, explainer videos, technical blogs, and other collateral to aid the go-to-market team in educating target customers, generating leads, positioning ScaleFlux products and promoting the company brand. As the content expert, you will represent ScaleFlux at conferences and technical events. We have plenty of SSD expertise on staff already – we’re looking for you to bring new knowledge & capabilities to the team.

This is a hands-on role, setting up the hardware, configuring the systems/clusters, and executing the testing. As such, it is an on-site position in the ScaleFlux headquarters, located in Milpitas, CA.

As we continue to drive innovation across the storage technology landscape, you may also participate with industry standards organizations.

Travel is not expected to exceed 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal stakeholders, go-to-market partners, and end customers to define, execute, and document experiments that can highlight the benefits of ScaleFlux products.
  • Ensure rigorous validation of results and clear documentation of the testing procedures, hypotheses, and outcomes.
  • Create demonstrations to showcase ScaleFlux technology in Marketing collateral, tradeshows, and other events
  • Produce and present technical collateral such as white papers and application notes
  • Represent ScaleFlux at various industry events and working groups

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years full-time employment working directly with enterprise server and storage infrastructure, AI infrastructure, and/or enterprise applications
  • Hands-on experience with data center infrastructure or enterprise IT infrastructure (compute, storage, networking… not the facilities aspects).
  • Linux administration and shell scripting
  • Fluent in English, with excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills & Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of enterprise applications and systems, particularly mission-critical application workloads, databases, analytics, HPC and AI workloads.
  • Experience in designing, executing, and documenting technical experiments
  • Prior experience in selecting and testing enterprise hardware and/or software (to bring the buyer’s perspective to the experiments)
  • Results-driven self-starter, able to work independently to achieve success
  • Experience in C, C++, and Python
  • Hands on experience with popular storage APIs
