Job Summary

The Wellbeing Benefits Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting our Employee Benefits Wellness team at Venbrook. This position contributes to account retention by providing essential support, ensuring seamless service delivery that satisfies our clients, and managing relationships with carriers to fulfill their needs. Staying ahead of the curve on wellness benefits and trends is crucial, and your role in communicating this information is essential to our success. Our wellbeing strategy prioritizes preventative care over reactive treatment, leading to better health outcomes and lower long-term costs related to chronic illness and absenteeism.

Location and Work Arrangement

  • Preferred Location: Orange County, California
  • Work Model: Hybrid (primarily remote)
  • Office Presence: 1-2 days per week in the Irvine office
  • Additional Travel: Occasional meetings in Los Angeles

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the wellbeing point of contact for medical, ancillary, and vendor carriers to obtain quarterly reporting, coordinate quarterly meetings, and organize the most up-to-date notifications/news for our clients.
  • Work closely with carrier representatives and marketing to ensure timely communication of new programs, features, trends, and updates to clients.
  • Collaborate with the employee benefits team to manage client-facing document requests and prepare renewal and new business presentations related to wellness and engagement.
  • Request, manage, and provide carrier wellness engagement stats based on carrier reporting.
  • Test and refine new engagement tools, carrier member portal and platform demos, and technologies to enhance adoption and program effectiveness.
  • Track and analyze engagement metrics such as program participation, satisfaction rates, and health outcomes to provide actionable insights and/or new recommendations.
  • Partner with Marketing to oversee client-facing materials like newsletters, benefit summaries, and wellness-focused educational resources.
  • Assist in the implementation of new carriers, plans, or vendors as it relates to wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with benefits specialists and marketing in the creation and updating of benefits guides (Ben Guides) to ensure clarity and ease of understanding for clients and employees.
  • Create a metric system and VOI on our programs with assistance in creating engagement surveys pre and post renewals.
  • Under the guidance of the VP of Wellbeing & Engagement, participate in client meetings to learn client needs, challenges, and concerns.
  • Coordinate event logistics as needed (virtual webinars, onsite health fairs, biometric screenings, etc.).
  • Draft application answers (e.g., WELCOA, America's Healthiest award) to support clients in applying for recognition awards.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of client-facing and benefits/insurance-related experience.
  • Experience in employee benefits, healthcare, insurance, or wellbeing programming is preferred.
  • Team-oriented and thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to present numerical data effectively.
  • Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to professional development and responsibility.
  • Strong quality and project management skills.
  • Excited to be part of a growing team.
